How I Pick My Tips

Every tip I publish goes through the same process before it appears on this page.

Form and context first

I start with recent form — not just results, but the underlying data: expected goals, shots on target, defensive pressure metrics, and how those numbers have moved over the last four to six games. A team can be winning while underperforming its expected output, which tends to be corrected. The scoreline is the last thing I look at.

Market movement second

Betting markets are information aggregators. When significant money moves a line, it usually means something — injury news, team selection leaks, or sharp positioning. I track opening prices against current prices on the markets I’m considering, and I take a view on whether the movement is informational or noise.

Probability vs price

A tip only publishes if my estimated probability of the outcome exceeds the implied probability in the market odds. A market I assess at 60% probability priced at Evens (50% implied) represents value. The same market priced at 1.50 (67% implied) does not, regardless of how confident I am in the outcome. This is the framework behind every pick.

What You’ll Find Here

Single match tips are picks on a specific market in one match — most commonly goals (over/under, both teams to score), Asian handicaps, or player-specific markets where the data points to clear value. These are the majority of what I publish.

Accumulator tips combine multiple selections across different matches. Every leg in an acca must stand independently as a single tip — I do not pad accumulators with low-confidence selections to hit a headline odds figure. If an acca publishes here, every selection in it would also qualify as a standalone tip.

Competition filters let you browse tips by tournament. Premier League, Champions League, and Championship are the primary competitions at launch. Coverage expands with the fixture calendar.

A Note on Responsible Gambling — From Maxwell

Betting tips are analysis, not guarantees. Even tips with a strong statistical case lose — that is the nature of probabilistic outcomes in sport. My published accuracy rate reflects a large sample; any individual tip or short run can deviate significantly from that average.
